Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly are generic medicines?

Generic medicines are non-branded versions of prescription drugs. They contain the same active ingredients, dosage, and strength as the branded originals. They are produced once the patent on the branded drug expires and are marketed under their chemical name. Generics are made by licensed manufacturers and deliver the same health benefits as their branded counterparts.

Why are generics cheaper than branded medicines?

Branded medicines are expensive because of the costs of research, trials, and marketing. After patents expire, other manufacturers can produce the same medicine without those costs. That’s why generic medicines are more affordable. At Australian Chemist, we pass those savings on to you while maintaining the same quality.

Are generics as safe and effective as branded medicines?

Yes. Generics are required to match the active ingredient, dosage, and effect of the brand version. The only differences may be in shape, size, or colour. Their therapeutic effect is identical.

Are your products approved by regulators?

All medicines at Australian Chemist come from certified suppliers and are approved by trusted health authorities (such as the FDA in the U.S. and the TGA in Australia). Every product meets strict standards for safety, quality, and effectiveness.

Do I need a prescription to order from Australian Chemist?

You do not need a prescription to place an order. However, we recommend consulting your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new treatment to ensure it’s suitable for you.

Do you ship outside Australia?

Yes. We deliver to most countries worldwide. Please check at checkout or contact Customer Service for details on your destination.

How is my order packaged?

Orders are shipped in plain, unmarked packaging. There is no mention of Australian Chemist or the product contents on the outside. Required documents are included inside the parcel.

What if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?

Contact our support team straight away. Under our Delivery Guarantee, we’ll resend the missing products or issue a refund.

Large orders (over 120 tablets) are split into smaller discreet parcels to comply with shipping rules. These may arrive separately, each covered by our guarantee.

Can customs delay my delivery?

Occasionally, yes. Customs may check or hold parcels for inspection. If this happens, you will be notified. Our support team will assist if documents or clarification are required.

Will I pay extra if my order needs to be reshipped?
